Donation Wish List

In-kind donations help fill important needs for our families.  Compass is grateful to the many donors who have organized drives or donated clothing and household goods to help San Francisco families in-need.

Items that Compass can always accept:

• Diapers of all sizes, including pull ups
• Travel sized toiletries
• New socks and underwear for children and adults
• Arts and crafts supplies – markers, stickers, glitter, feathers, etc..
• Canned and other non-perishable food items

Furniture donations:

Due to space and staffing constraints, Compass is unable to accept donations of furniture directly.  

Furniture donations to help Compass families moving into permanent housing may be directed to Making it Home (MIH).  MIH was founded by former Compass board member Sara Lemke-von Ammon, and for the past five years has helped to provide scores of Compass families with furniture and home furnishings that create a warm and welcoming environment.  Through their efforts, Compass families can begin their new lives in comfort and with dignity.

Items that Compass often needs:

(Because our storage space is very limited, please contact us BEFORE beginning your drive to determine how many items we will be able to accept.)

• Gently used and laundered clothing for infants, children and adults - including maternity wear
• Gently used and laundered winter coats
• Gently used shoes for children and adults
• Strollers

 Items that Compass is unable to accept:

• Car seats
• Toys

This holiday season, Compass was proud to partner with Green Apple Books for a holiday book drive!

Your donations allowed us to present a copy of the classic picture books Stellaluna and The Big Hungry Bear to each child who visited with Santa during our annual holiday party.
