Eviction Prevention

If your family might get evicted because you are behind on rent or utilities, or if you need move-in assistance to remain housed, Compass may be able to support you.

HOW TO GET CONNECTED

Online: Apply for rental assistance and choose Compass as your preferred provider. Note that you must be a San Francisco resident and have custody of a minor in order to apply for assistance.

By phone: Call (415) 644-0504 ext. 1000. Leave a message with your name and contact information and a counselor will contact you within two business days to determine if you are eligible for rental assistance.

WHAT TO EXPECT IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR SERVICES:
  • Payment to your landlord for owed back rent 

  • Payment to utility companies for bills in collection

  • Payment of move-in costs if you have found a unit but are unable to pay upfront expenses

  • Financial counseling and resources to improve money management and overcome obstacles including poor credit

  • Case management
